TALENT THROUGH ADVERSITY

Listen to Nikki Nik’s newly-released debut EP I’ll Meet You Here and you are bound to be drawn in by the charm and coyness of this blossoming young woman.

Refreshingly so, her lyrics flow like a ‘Dear Diary’ entry or a love letter to a crush she has yet to e-mail. Nikki shares her thoughts honestly and freely, in a way that you’d never know that she’s different than any other singer/songwriter.

Nikki’s early years were tough and filled with hardship as she was raised in an overcrowded orphanage in Lithuania from the day she left the hospital until she was adopted by an endearing American couple who brought her to California at the age of two.  Adjusting was a challenge for this little one as she was immediately shy, a loner. Thankfully those around her were able to take an interest in her and helped her face a diagnosis of high-functioning autism straight on.

Before her musical interests were manifested, Nikki learned discipline by training and competing as a high-level competitive gymnast, training at AOGC with Olympic level coaches. She won many awards and medals.

In just 18 months, Nikki transitioned from the gymnastics mat to the recording studio, surrounding herself with a supportive team which is headed by multi-talented producer and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Jan Linder-Koda of Angel Diva Music. Nikki has also studied with Jan at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles (owned and operated by Rob Seals).

Other team members include highly-respected multi-instrumentalist and producer, Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Jewel, Beck) as well as Matt Moss (CBS, NBC, FOX), record producer and composer for TV and Film. It was also really fun for her to work with other talented musicians like Bob Malone (Keyboardist for John Fogerty) in the recording sessions. 

Taking advantage of the Music Industry in Hollywood, Nikki has performed in local concerts and recorded backup on a Sia and Alexander Palmer track as well as with Typhoon Music Group Producer, Damian Ebanks. She also had the opportunity to sing 'A Thousand Years' with Christina Perri.

Nikki enjoyed singing with Musyca’s Harmony Choir where she has been fortunate to travel on tour and perform in several famous cathedrals internationally in such cities as Vienna, Salzburg, Prague and Paris.

Not one to sit still, Nikki is putting the finishing touches on several other recordings which will make an appearance on her 2nd EP scheduled for fall of 2016.
